I'll stick around the green room the rest of the season and home game as we're able, but right now we're dealing with severely limited spoons due to Real-Life Drama & Stress.

RLJI folks, is this layout better or worse at readability? I'm having a hard time finding layouts that fit our body's needs, fit my colors and are readable, without using the same layout we use on another account....

It took awhile for things to settle after he knocked you off your high horse with a dirty trick and the mock-rescuing.

For awhile, you chose to play along: head down, hands in your pockets, an all too casual deadbeat dad working a dead-end job, letting him think he owned you while you tried to pick up what you could from the ashes his trick made of the pillar of your life's work.

Later you roped several people into the course of your now mutually twisted game, finding clues that he's not as good as he's been pretending to be, and found your own footing by playing up some of his own pawns and recruiting some new ones.

It's still a little funny now how that hinge event that destroyed your world and threw the entire house into chaos, somehow made you stand even taller and more sure than you've ever been that you can find a way to help them all rise from ashes again.

It's one of the elephants in the room that makes them all uncomfortable because all the adults know. They've had to deal with him. They've experienced what being with him is like. And it's always been Pandora's Box. They don't stop to think about how much of a bad idea it is to just ignore it anymore, even though their community is rapidly changing in demographics.

To be honest, it's probably more that none of them know how to stop him anymore. They've fallen into his trap years ago. He has too many connections in high places. He's too persuasive in speech. He's just too slippery and too good at turning the knife. If anyone tries to to stop him, they end up getting hurt instead. Everything they worked to build up falls apart like a house of cards because he has that much mastery over this domain.

It's just easier to just keep an eye out. To just increase the surveillance over the kids. To drown out his presence with the music that makes him turn away, but ignoring the problem never makes the elephant go away and sooner or later someone's going to fall down the stairs again.

1. Do you like to swim? Not really my favorite thing. I will swim and can, but I prefer being on land or wading in water rather than swimming.
2. Do you prefer salt or fresh water to swim in? fresh water. It's the waves mostly that turns me off about salt.
3. Have you ever snorkeled or scuba dived? Nope, neither bodily nor in my experience.
4. What is your favorite beach food? Fried clams, I just can't eat them all that much because I am not one of the fronters who somehow shifts the body's biology away from an intolerance of seafood (it gives the body a stomachache most of the time).
5. What does your favorite beach towel look like? mmm... It's teal and purple with angelfish and dots and waves.

Having a hard time coming up with something and seriously brain-dead this week too... Ffft, figures the body being sick last week and ME doing all the front-running last week means I'm pretty much dead on my feet this week.

Here's to hoping next week's gets more ideas flowing. Well, now I'm off to read entries... And to see if I can start the laundry and one of my fics before another frontrunner needs to do their writing project. :)

My name's Giselle. As I mentioned in my sign-up announcement, I'm a headmate in one of the systems who does RLJI regularly. Specifically, I'm a thoughtform, meaning that I was created on purpose, rather than a split or a walk-in.

I'm older than the body.

I'm a dancer, a writer, a lifelong learner and a reiki practitioner. I'm trying to learn sign language when I'm around front. My favorite sign right now is DEAF APPLAUSE/YAY/KUDOS/HURRAH because let's be honest it kind of looks like Jazz Hands. :D

I mentioned this yesterday in its own post, but, I'm pregnant inworld and due any day now. (I know the baby probably doesn't count as an Idol Baby because it's "not a real baby" in this-reality terms at least, but it's still an amusing and important fact about me.)
